Philippines’ NUWHRAIN joins the Global Housekeeping initiative

Members of the IUF-affiliate NUWHRAIN attended an IUF seminar in Manila on August 20 to join the IUF’s Global Housekeeping initiative.  The seminar was divided into three parts:

–    Introduction to the Global Housekeeping initiative, including regional activities to date;

–    Why the initiative is focusing on housekeepers;

–    The A/P Regional campaign team.

Participants focused on the ILO definition of “housekeepers” as a source of potential leverage to fight for permanent jobs and proposed to establish a national campaign team within NUWHRAIN and to join the IUF A/P regional campaign team with two activists.
