Strike at Nestlé Turkey ends with collective bargaining success

Following an 11 day strike, IUF affiliate Tekgida-Is signed a collective bargaining agreement with Nestlé to apply at its multi-product site at Karacabey in the province of Bursa, Turkey. The agreement which covers more than 900 workers includes a mechanism for an extra 45 workers to be made permanent. Tekgida-Is also signed a CBA with Nestlé Waters in July which applies to more than 500 workers.
Both agreements provide for significantly improved wages and social benefits and most importantly provide collective bargaining protections and union representation for more than 1400 workers in Turkey’s food processing sector.
