Accor hotel housekeepers against outsourcing in Madrid

Members of the IUF-affiliated Comisiones Obreras organized a strike on September 16 in front of Hotel Mercure Plaza de España to protest mass layoffs in the housekeeping department.

Since the jobs will remain – rooms need to be cleaned! – workers fear they will be offered to be rehired under inferior conditions. The union believes this will also affect the quality of service.
