The IUF, our sister global union PSI, independent trade unions and national, regional and international human rights organizations have joined together in a public initiative to highlight the growing repression of all forms of democratic activity and expression in Algeria.
- Citizens exercising their rights to freedom of association, assembly, and to share and access information are increasingly criminalized and even charged with ‘terrorism’
- Beginning May 19, for ten consecutive days, the participating organizations will highlight the growing criminalization of human rights defenders, trade unionists, opposition political parties and independent media
- May 25 will be devoted to the growing repression of independent trade union activity
