Nestle and Fonterra swap assets in Latin America while Arla increases its presence in the lucrative UK market.
Fonterra and Nestle will continue their chilled dairy DPA joint venture in Brazil but Fonterra will up its stake to a controlling 51%. The NZ company will join forces with a local company to acquire Nestle’s share of DPA Venezuela.
Nestle will acquire Fonterra’s share of the milk powder manufacturing business in Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador and Colombia.
Meanwhile Arla has officially opened the £150m world’s largest fresh milk plant in Aylesbury as the platform to expand its fresh milk business in the UK.
