The IUF has joined with global unions and LabourStart to support Kyrgyz trade unions, including the IUF-affiliated Food and Processing Workers Union, in their fight to prevent the adoption of a damaging new law.
The “On Trade Unions” bill, if adopted, will:
- significantly restrict the scope of trade union activities
- dictate the internal structure of trade unions
- place trade unions under the control of state bodies
