- Spain leads the EU ranking for use of temporary workers with 26.8% in 2019, almost double the EU average of 13.8%
- In the Spanish HRCT sector, the use of temporary workers stands at 36%, nearly triple the EU average
- The ruling prevents consecutive fixed term contracts and other precarious employment relationships for ongoing work
Mari Cruz Vicente of CC.OO noted that the Spanish Supreme Court judgment is “great news that should help to put a stop to temporary and irregular work contracts.” Isabel Araque, of UGT, added that “the judgment endorses an historical demand of our union.”
