Union prepares for industrial action at McDonald’s Israel

The Working and Studying Youth Union in Israel picketed McDonald’s restaurants on June 26 and 27 and has declared an official industrial dispute in response to management’s refused to sign a collective agreement.
Following a mandatory 14-day cooling off period the union is authorized to take industrial action, including work stoppages and meetings during working hours.
Following a year of negotiations which brought the parties close to an agreement, management walked away from the process and began putting workers’ committee members under pressure. The union is demanding an end to the harassment and a return to the negotiating table.
