NGG fights for permanent jobs at Nestlé
A year-long union struggle on behalf of temporary workers at Nestlé Purina PetCare in Euskirchen has been crowned with success. In September 2012, all workers on temporary contracts received permanent contracts, new permanent jobs were created and 3 long-serving subcontracted workers were hired on directly.
For NGG representatives in the plant, it was important to offer these workers a long-term perspective and put an end to the insecurity and psychological stress they experience.
Job security for apprentices
In September 2012 agreements were signed at the Nestlé Maggi plants in Lüdinghausen and Singen which guarantee permanent contracts for apprentices who have successfully completed their training. This is a first in the food industry in Germany and the NGG hopes it will send a signal to other companies.
