While equal access to vaccines remains a critical issue as thousands more continue to die from COVID-19, IUF regions and affiliates are implementing important efforts to educate workers about the importance of getting vaccinated. Easy to use materials are key to providing solid information to counter the proliferation of misinformation circulating around the world.

  • The IUF Asia/Pacific region has developed a set of materials, available in 20 languages, including a fact sheet Fake News vs. Facts on COVID-19 and Three Actions to Fight COVID-19; IUF Africa has also translated these materials for use in the region
  • In the UK, UNITE the Union has developed a campaign “Stay Safe: Get a Jab!” including a manual with helpful information as well as a short video:

  • In North America, RWDSU has developed a fact sheet for union members, and UNITE HERE has launched a campaign entitled “Our shot!” to encourage union members to get vaccinated

We are requesting that affiliates send any additional materials on vaccination education efforts to [email protected].

IUF General Secretary Sue Longley stated, “The pandemic is far from over. While there is progress in some regions, COVID-19 remains as deadly as ever in many parts of the world. We must continue to fight for equal access to the vaccine for all and to ensure our affiliates have accurate information to pass to workers. Getting vaccinated is an act of global solidarity against COVID-19.”
