NGG reaches first collective agreement at Nestlé Wagner in Germany

The first-ever collective bargaining negotiations at pizza manufacturer Nestlé Wagner – begun in September 2014 – were successfully concluded on 20 May 2015. The German food workers union, NGG, has negotiated a collective agreement for the approximately 1,700 employees, which comes into force on 1 September.
Wagner Pizza, founded in 1968, has been a wholly-owned Nestlé business since 2013. Nestlé invested in a 49% stake in this company in 2005 and increased its stake to 75% in 2010.
Nestlé has invested in the expansion of the factory, but until now, the workforce remained without a collective agreement and at wages below the industry standard.
As part of the comprehensive settlement, Nestlé Wagner has agreed take part in future collective wage negotiations for the food industry in the Hessen / Rhineland-Palatinate area.
