The long and bitter dispute at the Pearl Continental Hotel in Lahore, Pakistan, which at one point saw nine union officers and a member of the Pearl Continental Hotel Employees Union Lahore charged with fabricated criminal offenses including “terrorism” following the union’s victory in a representation election, has now been resolved.
The union has been recognized and collective bargaining negotiations are taking place; all dismissed workers are now back with back benefits and the union and management have agreed to withdraw all court cases. The union has warmly thanked all those who supported the campaign and whose support helped bring it to a successful conclusion.
